I’Wante Diamond, Comedian, New York City
I’Wante Diamond, in his own words:“Luckily, for me as a gay man and having grown up as the only gay man in my family and being surrounded by strong lesbians I’ve learned to develop a thick skin and I don’t let people and their words dictate how I should live my life. I am happy and I don’t pay attention to what people say about me. There have been times when people have been very hateful to my face but I smile with my succulent lips and nice white teeth and kill them with kindness.”
“I feel that there is no unity in this gay community and somewhere down the line after our forefather’s worked hard to obtain our freedom the community took a turn as a jaded, judgemental, superficial, and bitchy turn for the worst. A lot of the “chilren” as me and my friends call them also lost respect for themselves by not having safe sex and it’s so sad the disregard for their lives. I think there is so much negativity and we need someone like Mr. Diamond to teach these unruly bitches a lesson in love and respect for oneself!”
